From the days of the 30s and 40s cliffhanger serials, Hollywood had indeed produced many action-adventure films that could easily be identified as “pulp.” From the Indiana Jones movies to the Rocketeer and others. The panel will look at their own choices for favorite pulp themed movies.

AFTERNOON PANEL  12: 15 PM to 1:15 PM

Topic – MODERN PULP BESTSELLERS
History tells us that many notable bestselling authors of the 50s and 60s actually began their careers in the pulps. But what of today’s bestselling writers of popular fiction? Are some of them writing “modern pulp”?  There are the obvious heirs ala Clive Cussler’s Dirk Pitt series, or Douglas & Lincoln’s Agent Pendergast. But can we consider Stephe King’s fantasy & horror tales pulp? Or John Grisham’s lawyer themed novels? Is pulp alive and well on the New York Times bestseller list?
